Emeriti Scholarship Fund
Honor the Past. Build the Future
In July 2023, the department launched an initiative to honor the legacies of our emeriti faculty through the BSE Emeriti Scholarship Campaign. This campaign is a tribute to the remarkable individuals whose dedication and passion have shaped our department into what it is today.
The effort encompasses 14 University of Nebraska Foundation scholarship funds set up by BSE faculty some more recent than others, in an effort to give back to the deparmtnet they call home. These funds celebrate the lasting contributions of emeriti professors and will be used exclusively to support scholarships, increasing the affordability of degree programs and ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder talented students from reaching their full potential.
Since August 2023, the department has been publishing monthly spotlights on the emeriti and their scholarship funds via the Nebraska Alumni Association Newsletter. These features provide glimpses into their careers, their impact on the department and their continued influence on students and alumni.
The BSE Emeriti Scholarship Fund highlights the profound effect that dedicated educators can have on countless lives, underscoring the enduring legacy of the department's faculty.
